Westlich der Insel Tortuga, Venezuela, Barbados konnte der Schuppenwurm Parahololepidella nuttingi auf Schwarzen Korallen nachgewiesen werden.
Der Wurm kommt als Kommensale auf verschiedenen Korallen vor, so z.B. auf der Schwarzen Koralle Tanacetipathes tanacetum (Pourtalès, 1880), in der Erstbeschreibung noch als Antipathes tanacetum Pourtalès, 1880 benannt, siehe Erstbeschreibung ab Seite 716.
Etymologie.
Der Artname "nuttingi" ehrt den amerikanischen Kurator Professor Charles Cleveland Nutting, Leiter der Barbados-Antigua Expedition von 1918.
Professor Nutting war Spezialist für Hydroidpolypen und Schwarze Korallen.
